The purpose of the Ladies of Charity of Bastrop is to honor Our Lord Jesus Christ as the source and model of all charity. By imitating Our Divine Savior, the members practice the virtues of humility, simplicity, and charity when they serve the sick and lonely and when they provide for the spiritual and corporal welfare of the poor and needy within Bastrop County. Our projects include Meals on Wheels, nursing home Eucharistic services, working with Pink Santa, working with the Association of International Charities and hurricane and tsunami relief. We provide the needy with clothing and household items, utilities assistance, medical assistance with prescriptions, student eyeglasses and exams and loan out medical equipment. The Ladies of Charity store provides funds for the charitable undertakings of the association. All store merchandise comes from donations. This association is an exclusively charitable corporation 501(C3). We are women (and some men) working together against all forms of poverty.
